Definition of Length: The measurement of something from one end to the other, usually of the longest dimension of the object being measured.  Also can be defined as the linear extent from beginning to end.  Length is typically measured in metric or American standardized units.

The standard metric measurements of length are based off the meter and are the kilometer, meter, centimeter and the millimeter.

The standard American measurements of length are based of the foot and are the mile, yard, foot (or feet), and the inch.
